Deals Come Apart in Many Ways
Sometimes it takes awhile to determine whether a merger was the best idea for a business. Recently, Dr. Pepper announced it is buying Peet’s Coffee. After this transaction, the company plans to split into cold and hot drink sellers, unwinding a 2018 merger with Keurig. In another deal-making redo, Kraft Heinz is splitting up ten years after their merger. Sometimes a deal comes apart at the last minute. This is the case with the planned sale of SPIN magazine, after the funds to close the deal were never wired.
If you are considering splitting up your company or you need assistance in an acquisition, Asterion can help.
