Class Action Round-up
Two recent lawsuits highlight the more serious side of class action filings. A claim by tenants that rent hikes are due to the use of an algorithm has prompted a request for an anti-trust review. Just a week after Twitter’s ownership changed hands, employees have filed a proposed class action. They allege that the company is moving forward with layoffs without providing 60 days’ notice as required under the WARN Act. It is too soon to tell whether and how the possible call back of some workers will impact the proposed class.
