Asterion’s Stephen J. Scherf, CPA convened the Annual Meeting of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“PICPA”) on May 4, 2012. The meeting marked the end of Scherf’s tenure as Chapter President. “It was a great honor to be selected by my peers for this position and it was even a greater honor to serve them and the profession,” said Scherf. Under Scherf’s leadership the Chapter saw continued growth and progress towards its goals, all while exceeding the Chapter’s operating budget.
The PICPA is the professional society that provides professional services to its members and oversees the interests of Certified Public Accountants in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Greater Philadelphia Chapter is the largest Chapter in the Commonwealth, representing approximately two-thirds of the organization’s membership. Scherf will now move on to serve a two year term on Council, the governing board of the statewide Institute
